We and our colleagues at Astrobotic , a small Pittsburgh-based business founded in 2007, are on a mission to make space accessible to the world. The fixed power stations will be connected by electrical cables.

An intelligent vehicle-to-grid communications and control system for its plug-in hybrid electric vehicles that “talks” directly with the nation’s electric grid has been unveiled today courtesy of carmaker, Ford. The first of the specially equipped plug-in hybrids has been delivered to American Electric Power of Columbus, Ohio.

One of the biggest challenges to the nations power grid "is going to be the introduction of electric vehicles," said Dana Christiansen, associate director of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, which has partnered with Nissan, TVA and the state of Tennessee to help develop the charging infrastructure to support the vehicles.
