Encana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc., Encana said that the EPA data from existing domestic water wells aligned with all previous testing done by Encana in the area and showed no impacts from oil and gas development. Although emissions from international shipping activities were excluded from the Kyoto Protocol process, a 2008 study by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) estimated that actual shipping emissions are as much as three times previous calculations, and may rise 30% by the year 2020 ( earlier post ).
