Porsche will manufacture the future all-electric version of the fourth-generation Cayenne at Volkswagen Slovakia’s multi-brand location in Bratislava. Prototype of the new Cayenne Porsche has already announced a further all-electric SUV above the Cayenne for the second half of the decade.

The Supervisory Board of Porsche AG has decided to manufacture the next generation of the Macan as a fully electric series. This will be the first all-electric compact SUV from Porsche, and is due to roll off the assembly line in the Leipzig site at the start of the next decade. Current generation Macan.

Porsche is investing more than €600 million (US$677 million) to expand its factory in Leipzig. Porsche decided to establish a site in Leipzig in 1999. The factory expansion also allows Porsche to actively shape the development of electromobility in the state of Saxony.

The new generation of the Cayenne will enter the market later this year in five versions: Cayenne S, Cayenne Turbo, Cayenne Diesel, Cayenne S Diesel and—in a world premiere—the Cayenne S E-Hybrid, the first plug-in hybrid in the premium SUV segment. Porsche introduced the first generation Cayenne in 2002.

Within three years, the new 3-in-1 eDrive units will be available for start of production in a multitude of vehicle types, from A-segment city cars to D-segment executive cars and SUVs, supporting a range of torque outputs from 2,000 N·m to 3,800 N·m, with nominal power outputs of between 80 kW to 155 kW.
