CAP says that Australia is a mature Dual Fuel market and its existing Caterpillar product, which has sold more than 200 units, is reaching the end of its life cycle having been operational since 2001. We now have a fleet of 22 Dual-Fuel vehicles operational in Tasmania which represents nearly 50% of LNG vehicles on the road in the State.

To encourage taxi companies to adopt lower emission models for their fleet, the CEV rebate and registration surcharge for taxis is set at 50% higher compared to cars, i.e. between $7,500 and $30,000 (US$6,146 to US$24,584). The outgoing Green Vehicle Rebate (GVR) scheme was introduced in 2001 to encourage the take up of green vehicles.

Automakers can use ZEV credits to meet their statutory requirements for ZEV sales in California, or, as is the case, for example, with Tesla, sell the credits to other automakers as a non-insignificant revenue stream. To receive fast refueling credits manufacturers must apply to ARB with the information and documentation.
