Europcar to introduce Opel Ampera extended range EV as a rental car throughout Europe

The market introduction of the Opel Ampera (the European cousin of the Chevy Volt) is due by the end of 2011. The Opel Ampera will then be rolled out throughout France, Italy, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom from the beginning of 2012. L/100 km (147 mpg US) and emits less than 40 g/km CO 2 (preliminary data).

GM Europe Premieres Opel Ampera,Chevrolet Spark at Geneva Show

GM Europe staged the world premieres of the Opel Ampera, the European cousin of the Chevrolet Volt, and the Chevrolet Spark mini-car, at the Geneva Motor Show. The Ampera is an extended range electric vehicle based on the Voltec technology used in the Chevrolet Volt. The Ampera goes on sale in Europe in 2011, the Spark in early 2010.

Ford unveils C-MAX Energi, its first production plug-in hybrid, and another hybrid variant

C-MAX Hybrid is targeted to deliver better fuel economy than the 41 mpg Ford Fusion Hybrid, the most fuel-efficient sedan in America today. The C-MAX Energi and C-MAX Hybrid vehicles sold in Europe in 2013 will be built at Ford’s plant in Valencia, Spain, starting in 2013.
