As a reality check, current estimates for the number of ICE vehicles still on the road worldwide in 2050 range from a low of 1.25 In states (or countries ) with a high proportion of coal-generated electricity, the miles needed to break-even climb more. The San Diego backlash over a mileage tax may be just the beginning.

The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles. Ive found it facinating how car commercials changed the main MPG number they promoted before gas went over $4 a gallon as city miles.
