Earlier this month, researchers from MIT said they had developed a process that within three years could lead to electric car batteries able to recharge in as little as five minutes. For on-the-go juice ups, the idea is to exchange your dead battery for a fresh one owned by Better Place. The price goes up with demand and usage.

But it is a price that must be paid, and GM should be commended for remaining committed to the Volt. One wonders if the recent headway at MIT in building lithium ion cells using ?virus? Not really sure where all the money is going, but it seems like the Volt is already over-priced and under performing.
