Volvo has some of the most aggressive goals when it comes to brand-wide electrification, and the new C40 Recharge is a big step in its electric charge towards zero emissions. Its official name is the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric, and it’s available as either a single motor or dual motor (the latter is called the Twin).

It is one of three new Genesis EVs to be launched in September , but it’s the first to be based on Hyundai’s E-GMP EV architecture, which means there’s no internal combustion version of the five-door coupe SUV in existence. There’s no spare tyre just a mobility kit. That especially applies to kneeroom in the rear. Just saying….

Alfa Romeo Tonale – the Italian brand finally has a rechargeable car in its ranks in the form of the Tonale PHEV compact SUV. General Motor eCrate conversion kits – by late 2021 GM plans to offer battery and motor kits for classic cars, allowing an easy EV conversion. Expect to see it Down Under in 2023.
