signed a long-term supply agreement with DMA (Derindere) in Istanbul, Turkey. DMA will use Remy’s HVH 250 motor to power their plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) sedan. DMA will install Remy’s HVH 250 machine as the traction motor in the 5-passenger plug-in hybrid sedan, which will be available during the third quarter of 2012.

Based on a Transit chassis, produced at the Ford Otosan joint venture plant in Kocaeli, Turkey, the medium-sized electric delivery van is fitted with a battery-electric drivetrain and a body designed and built to StreetScooter specifications. With a battery capacity of up to 76 kWh, the WORK XL has a range of up to 200 kilometers (124 miles).

The Transit Connect Electric will have a targeted range of up to 130 km/80 miles on a full charge and zero exhaust emissions. Two next-generation petrol hybrid-electric vehicles to be introduced in 2013. A plug-in hybrid-electric vehicle also to be introduced in 2013.

Three-quarters of European consumers surveyed (74%) said that before they would consider purchasing an EV, they would expect it to be able to travel 300 miles between charges—much higher than what is currently available—and 67% said the battery must take no longer than two hours to charge.
