5 million government grant was awarded in the 2020/2021 budget to help set up Adelaide-based manufacturing facilities. Kia e-Niro – Kia is expected to confirm it will begin going electric in Australia in 2021 and it’s the e-Niro set to lead the (err) charge. More affordable EV6s will follow, but not until 2023.

The ISO 15118-20 standard enables bidirectional communication between the charging station and the vehicle, and with OCPP 2.0.1 , permission is granted to go through the DC port. You might have home solar, a battery, maybe you can already interface all of that together. Kia, Hyundai will be launching bidirectional-capable vehicles.
