A demonstration of plug-in hybrids and full battery electrics at an HEAA meeting. Other speakers have included an HEAA member who builds electric motorcycles, another who has converted gas lawn mowers into electric, and a third who is proud to move around his property while sitting in his converted electric La-Z-Boy. No Teslas allowed.

They are either glorified golf cart city cars like this one or they are only for the very wealthy like the Tesla. Today we could be using lead-acid EVs, lead-carbon-acid EVs, or nickel metal hydride or lithium-ion hybrids. Glad to see the variety & availability of electic commuter cars (vs hybrids & PHEV) is rising.

It also offers eight hybrid models. Volt like hybrids are the intermediate future between hydrogen or fast charging electric cars. eyeroll* Posted by: Driver | Apr 13, 2009 7:09:12 PM GM apparently feels that theyre going to skip most of the hybrid market and go straight for the electric plug-in. Thats short-sighted.
