The BMW XM is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system comprising a V8 gasoline engine and electric motor that delivers combined fuel consumption of 1.6 – 1.5 l/100 km [147 – 157 mpg US] in the WLTP cycle; combined electric power consumption of 30.1 – 28.9 The key sales markets will be the USA, China and the Middle East.

Households with plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) and smart meters actively managed how, when and where they charged their cars based on electricity rates but rarely took advantage of online feedback, according to a two-year study by a team at the University of Colorado Boulder’s Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute ( RASEI ).

A plug and a pack can make a car a 101 MPG vehicle aided by electricity. ! Plug-ins can be moving the USA to regain its energy independence with good ole homegrown American, if not Arizona solar, electrons! Cause if you're without wheels, which is due to $4, $5, $6/gallon for gasoline, then "Happiness" is not likely yours!
