The Times Online reports the British government's Department for Transport (DfT) has conducted a safety test on the all-electric Reva G-Whiz and found it wanting. Conservative MP Boris Johnson blogs "Banning the G-Wiz sums up Labour" in a most amusingly perverse Tory manner about the issue. They want to ban it, of course.

The bias against lightweight, low speed electric quadricycles such as the UK’s best selling electric vehicle, the REVA G-Wiz, is highly questionable. The REVA G-Wiz, for example, emits just 63 g CO2 / km when the carbon emitted at the power station is included (based on the UK’s electricity mix).
