Chartwell Marine has won a £320k Innovate UK Smart Grant. Methanol fuel presents a significant opportunity to decarbonize in a maritime industry which is confronted with the debate over sustainable fuel alternatives, as it can be produced from biomass and can carry a near-zero carbon footprint.

The National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium at West Virginia University (WVU) has received a $1.15-million million grant to develop the state’s second hydrogen production-fueling station. The resulting hydrogen will be stored as a gas at a pressure of up to 5,000 psi (345 bar).
