Alternatively, may we suggest the sound of the neighborhood ice cream truck? When a car is operating on the electric motor only, throttle and speed dependent synthesised sound projects an engine sound in front of the vehicle. However, the electric drive portion of the vehicles, including the motor, electronics and A123 System lithium ion battery pack is identical. Thats such a pretty metallic blue; I would love to see these postal vehicles around my neighborhood. Oh, and the whole electric thing is good too. Looks sharp.

Although charging infrastructure is beginning to find its way into cities, it may be awhile until they are available in residential neighborhoods en masse.
