And I’m one those million since they’re counting plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) as well as full battery electrics. California’s plug-in vehicle sales tally is impressive: 663,014 battery electrics (62.9%). 379,125 plug-in hybrids (26%). The number of EVs in my neighborhood seems to be growing weekly.

Although charging infrastructure is beginning to find its way into cities, it may be awhile until they are available in residential neighborhoods en masse. Of course, EVs that arent designed for battery swaps wont use it, and plug-in hybrids wont need it. Charge at home solves fully 95% of average charge need. not an issue.
