Clean Fleet Report is a big fan of adding a hybrid option to any existing vehicle as a step towards full electrification. This is what Toyota has done with the all-new 2022 Tundra, which we previewed in a Texas-based drive program last week. The 2022 Tundra is easy to drive, with an almost car-like demeanor. People from Chevron and Toyota will be driving Toyota’s Tundra, RAV4 and Camry on this road trip with the objective of demonstrating the fuel, which is more than 40% less carbon intensive than traditional gasoline on a lifecycle basis, according to Chevron.

Clean Fleet Report was invited to Toyota’s U.S. Fuel economy numbers have not been announced, but the same gasoline-hybrid power plant in the Toyota Tundra pickup gets 20 mpg city/24 highway/22 combined. Clean Fleet Report had the opportunity to drive the Sequoia while pulling a 6,500-pound boat and trailer. Power to tow.
