The Renault-Nissan Alliance has begun ZEV initiatives in Kanagawa Prefecture and Yokohama in Japan, as well as in Israel, Denmark, Portugal, Monaco, the UK, France, Switzerland, Ireland, China and Hong Kong. It will also look into educating the public on EV technology though a nationwide EV sharing programme or through corporate fleets.

There are at least a half dozen different technologies to power cars with electricity under construction. Better Place is building stations in San Francisco, Hawaii, Israel, and Denmark to swap out 1,000 pound batteries in a car wash type set up.
