Ethiopia spent nearly $6 billion to import fossil fuels last year — with more than half of that spending going to fuel vehicles. In response, Ethiopia’s Transport and Logistics Ministries have announced that automobiles cannot enter Ethiopia, unless they are electric. (!) Ethiopia, however, isn’t waiting for 2035.

Geely exports more than 100,000 vehicles in 2012; 164% year-on-year growth

Zhejiang Geely Holding Group set a new export sales record in December with 11,000 cars being exported during the month, which also helped the company increase its export sales over the course of 2012 by 164%. Geely’s December 2012 sales were pulled forward by a strong showing from the Emgrand series of vehicles.
