The PEP station concept is not compatible with the Better Place system.

We noted in December that the Society of Automotive Engineers, or SAE, was working to update standards for the interface between plug-in electric cars and the grid, and planned to agree on a set within months. The SAE standard for this is called J1772.

This is a well written story in the Pasadena Star News about how the utilities are gearing up for the coming plug-in vehicles. That should be in plenty of time since even the most optimistic of us (that would be me:~) don’t expect much more than a million vehicles delivered nationwide by 2012.
