El Paso Electric (EPE) has filed its Transportation Electrification Plan (TEP) with the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission ( NMPRC ) for approval. An Electrification Grid Impact Study to help guide EPE’s system planning efforts based on a projected increase of EV adoption and electricity consumption.

Recent reports have indicated that Taiwan’s Pegatron has selected a site in El Paso, Texas, for an upcoming production facility that would provide parts for American electric car maker Tesla. The update was posted on Wednesday through a report from Taiwanese financial newspaper Commercial Times. .

In a new plan from the Texas Department of Transportation, the state is setting aside $408 million for electric vehicle charging infrastructure over the next five years. As of the date of this report’s publishing, there are 129,010 electric vehicles in Texas, and that number is rapidly growing.
