Exceeding its initial program targets, the plug-in 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid ( earlier post ) has earned an electric-mode fuel economy rating of 84 miles-per-gallon-equivalent (MPGe) from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). No other minivan has ever come close to this rating. (As All figures from fueleconomy.gov.).

The company also announced in June that it will build electric family sized minivans, SUVs and fleet vans with DOE funding (see article ) and it has formed a partnership with Daimler to provide powertrain components for the electric Smart car. The company hopes to begin selling the Fisker Karma in mid 2010 in Europe.
