Nonetheless, I do agree that it wastes of energy, reduces range and should NOT be mandatory. a cyclist is much quieter, and these cars do have horns still for people what step out in front. Also ferrying guests about a short circuit (so to speak) was a smart fortwo imbued with a Tesla-engineered drivetrain, fruit of its effort to supply Daimler with battery packs for 1,000 smart eds. Merc wants the electric smart to perform badly, to have a short range and little power, so that it dosent eat up other products in the lineup.
