New York City adding 70 electric vehicles to fleet; launches EV educational push

The NYPD already uses electric scooters and electric powered golf carts on boardwalks, in parks and some transit hubs. The site also documents the environmental benefits of electric cars. The FDNY and NYPD initially will use the vehicles for non-emergency duties, including use by NYPD Traffic Enforcement Agents.

While people can purchase neighborhood electric vehicles today for about $10K, they only have a top speed of 35 miles an hour or so, essentially glorified golf-carts. My goal is to create a Civic EV conversion kit with open-source tools and open-source designs/documentation so that the most people can benefit from it.
