Ford has a winner on their hands with the all-new 2022 Ford Maverick compact pickup. Maybe Ford went with Maverick because it can mean “pursuing rebellious, even potentially disruptive, policies or ideas.” Ford has certainly done this by resurrecting the compact pickup genre that was once so popular in the 1960s-1980s.

Conversions are mostly for the Prius, with a few for the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid SUVs. For a list of conversions completed to date, see Where PHEVs (mostly Priuses) Are. The easiest conversions are for 2004-2008 Prius (not 2001-2003 Prius) and the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner Hybrid. So far, most start as hybrids.
