BYD , for examples, says their 60 mile range-extended vehicle can add 30 miles of range in ten minutes. Vancouvers trolley bus fleet operates at 600 volts and god knows how many amps. For extended range I guess one could carry a fairly modest generator set in the trunk to avoid ever being stranded.
