UC Davis Begins $2.8M Studies on Impacts of Escaped Nitrogen

Farm machines burning oil, gasoline and diesel release nitrogen to the air. 500,000 from the California Energy Commission and $350,000 from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation to Johan Six for new research on nitrous oxide emissions in various farming systems. Wastes from cattle, chickens and other livestock include nitrogen.

San Joaquin Valley receives $12.9M from CARB for clean trucks

Reducing emissions from mobile sources is key to the San Joaquin Valley meeting federal ambient air quality standards. Heavy-duty trucks, such as the ones targeted under this funding, are the single largest source of NO x and diesel PM in the Valley, and are critical to ensuring that goods are moved throughout the State and nation.
