We had a chance to spend several hours driving through the largely flat precincts around Detroit, putting almost 100 miles on a black example that stickered just south of $100,000. 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Our drive route mixed rural Michigan roads and fast Interstate traffic up to 80 mph. miles per kilowatt-hour.

Two of those plants (Lordstown, Ohio, and Spring Hill, Tennessee) are now up and running, with a third in Lansing, Michigan, now under construction. The suspension is tuned for comfort, and roadholding was perfectly fine for any situation we put it through—bearing in mind Detroit has essentially no hills and very few curvy roads.

The prototype vehicle, called Project PUMA (Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility), is designed to ease congestion and pollution problems in cities. It is based on the Segway Personal Transporter but holds two people, instead of one, and lets them sit, instead of stand. You could even call it Personal On-demand Driving.

It is aggressively in talks with Portland General Electric Plug-In Charging Stations , ( POR ) and other states including Michigan, and California that are scrambling to offer incentives. My personal criteria for an EV is 80/80 MPH/miles range, but thats because drivers either go 80 or stopped around here. market b y the end of 2009.
