AC Propulsion has delivered an AC Propulsion-powered eBox to the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), where it will be used to evaluate Vehicle to Grid (V2G) operation as part of a research program. The eBox is an electric conversion designed and developed by AC Propulsion, based on the 2006 Scion xB.

The bi-directional OBC uses an AC↔DC converter and step-up / step-down converter to convert direct current and alternating current in both directions and to synchronize voltage and power frequency with the power grid. Currently, V2G is in pilot projects in Japan, Denmark, US, and China.

A later version is expected to feature a twin-motor design. Siemens Energy is participating in the EDISON project (Electric vehicles in a Distributed and Integrated market using Sustainable energy and Open Networks), which is studying innovative ways of linking electric vehicles to the power supply grid in Denmark.

Renault and Better Place also announced an expansion of their current agreement by committing to a volume of at least 100,000 electric cars in Israel and Denmark by 2016. . The range of electric vehicles will then expand to cover other segments, with two vehicles that will be designed from scratch as electric vehicles.
