The production plug-in hybrid has a number of key changes from the 125 prototype demo units that were deployed in the field for testing and customer feedback. The demo units defaulted to EV mode. The engine also uses an electrically driven air conditioning compressor and water pump to reduce mechanical losses.

We’re saving the end user, the contractor, the guy who uses them a lot of hassle to buy this battery, store them. We have zero emissions to air and water. We have a globally exclusive deal for electronic shelf labels, the small price tags in the stores. And they develop a technology, and it’s a great demo technology.

We were not told of any rainwater harvesting plan, so I guess most of the water is coming by pipeline. The paint shop alone requires about one lakh litres of makeup water every day. 95% of the water is recycled. Ventilation was good – with ducts for water-cooled air and 10 metre diameter ceiling super-fans.
