The US Cash for Clunkers program (CARS) ended Tuesday night with 690,114 dealer transaction submitted worth $2,877.9 mpg and the average fuel economy of vehicles purchased is 24.9 mpg: a 58% improvement. of the total—followed by Texas ($183,776,500, 6.4%) and New York ($156,292,000, 5.4%). Honda came in fourth at 13.0%.

The 2011 Volt was launched in California, New York, Connecticut, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Virginia and Washington, DC. Toyota and Lexus held their annual new product showcase the first week of June at their Plano, Texas, headquarters. Clean Fleet Report has tested many Toyota hybrid models and know this fuel economy number can easily be topped, getting in the 40+ mpg range. Even with all that performance, fuel economy is rated at 31 mpg on the highway.

Clean Fleet Report was in Austin, Texas, in mid-July 2022, for the press reveal of the 2023 Crown. 2 versions offered–MPG or horsepower. Pricing has not been released for the 2023 Crown, which is scheduled to be in dealers in late-2022. We were able to crawl all over the Crown, but Toyota did not give us the keys.
