The US car scrappage scheme know as the ‘cash for clunkers’ plan will end next week after the funds ran out. The CARS program has recorded more than 457,000 dealer transactions worth $1.9 In response to the scheme, both General Motors and Ford ramped up production, adding shifts and rehired laid off workers to meet renewed demand.
