To achieve societal goals of significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, more and more consumers will need to drive zero-emissions vehicles. This includes unlimited free hydrogen refueling.

The Advanced Clean Cars program combines the control of soot, smog-causing pollutants (LEV III) and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions into a single coordinated package of requirements for model years 2017 through 2025. This will reduce the monthly cost of a new car by $12, even when considering the higher cost of the loan or lease.

A report issued today by the National Research Council recommends that the US set a measurable domestic greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions budget in the range of 170 to 200 gigatons of CO 2 -equivalent (eq) for the period 2012 through 2050. The report recommends seven specific overarching strategies: Adopt an economy-wide carbon pricing system.
