In June about 500 cars were placed in consumer and fleet hands in Los Angeles and New York and New Jersey for what BMW calls a " field trial." As with the NEV fiasco, credit-building schemes are taking precedence over production zero emission vehicles on the road. I drove the car from LA to San Francisco recently.
