Improving fuel economy up to 5% compared with similar 6-speed automatic transmissions, the 8L45 transmission will debut on the 2016 Cadillac CT6 and will also drive the 2016 Cadillac CTS and ATS. Stop/start systems increase fuel economy by turning the engine off when the vehicle stops.

The company also announced plans to reduce usage another 25% on a per-vehicle basis by 2016.

The new Fisher buses will provide more than triple the equivalent fuel economy in all-electric mode and reduce CO2 emissions due to the extensive use of lightweight materials and the large capacity battery system.
