Alstom successfully performed the first test run at 80 km/h (50 mph) of the fuel cell passenger train Coradia iLint ( earlier post ) on its own test track in Salzgitter, Lower Saxony (Germany). TÜV Süd has certified the safety of the battery, the pressure tank system and the fuel cell for the coming test phases.

Drawing on its fuel cell expertise, Bosch will assign the development of electrolyzer components to the Mobility Solutions business sector, investing up to €500 million in this venture by the end of the decade. This is the reverse of what takes place in a fuel cell, where electricity is generated by combining hydrogen and oxygen.
