For me, it’s mesh radio systems, which first captivated me while I was zipping around downtown Las Vegas back in 2004. Clearly, mesh and its ad hoc decentralized digital architecture were the future of wireless comms! On the radio side, I used a plug-in I/O expander to connect the serial transmit and receive wires.
