Hyundai Motor Company unveiled the 2.4 Theta II GDI, its first Gasoline Direct Injection engine before an audience of engineers attending the Ninth Annual Hyundai-Kia International Powertrain Conference in Korea. GDI application will subsequently be expanded across the gasoline engine family and applied to other Hyundai models.

Hyundai Partnering with Korean battery companies for hybrids. August 9, 2007 (Multiple reports on speech and press conference by GM Vice Chairman Bob Lutz) Lutz said his goal is for GM to develop a plug in hybrid on sale by 2010. Doubts PHEVs have environmental benefits. No known plug-ins being planned or on the road.
