Check out the new Nissan Leaf on video: You’ve got to love the fact that Nissan had balls and the vision to bank their future on full on electric vehicles, leapfrogging their Japanese competition Honda and Toyota whose timid and safe bet on hybrids has already marked them as bridge technology car makers. Really Ford? Are you kidding me?

In such an emergency, a bidirectional EV with charge to spare could come to the rescue. In principle, this problem might have been solved with software to govern the charging and discharging.

Here’s what the brainiacs at General Motors sent the premier EV car conference on the West Coast. But what did surprise this reporter was the absence of Honda, Toyota, BYD, and a lot of the other players listed on the Plug-In America car tracker. Their chargers were all over the exhibit floor charging every EV there.
