The new ECONAMIQ technology builds on existing concepts such as cylinder deactivation and variable valve timing with a unique patented combination of routing gasses for increased system efficiency. The company presented its first results at the annual ASME ICEF (Internal Combustion Engine Fall) conference in Chicago.

Ilmor Engineering will present a new cutaway version of the Ilmor five-stroke concept engine at the show. Ilmor, based in the UK, has traditionally focused on racing engines, but now as a member of the UK Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership its business is becoming increasingly diverse. The event takes place from June 16-18.
