The Dutch energy company Eneco has signed contracts for the purchase of 50 Smith Ampere electric commercial vans, the electric version of the Ford Transit Connect, to be delivered in 2009 and 2010. Ford Motor Company and Azure Dynamics Corporation are introducing a passenger wagon version of the Ford Transit Connect Electric. The wagon is a logical next step for Azure and Ford which first introduced an electrified Transit Connect in December 2010. The wagon has a top speed of 75 mph (121 km/h).
