Other interior features are wireless phone charging, Homelink, keyless entry with remote start, cargo area lighting, a locking glove box and a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel with controls for audio, telephone and smart cruise control. About those audio controls, which are buttons on the backside of the steering wheel.

Steering feel was light and road feel was light. The engine start/stop button is located on the left side of the steering wheel, just like a Porsche. The electrically power-assisted steering made turning in-town easy, but it made open road driving seem at times as if the car was barely connected to the road. Staight up in back.
Porsche 914 EV Conversion

I modified the wiring in the original 914 AC kit (as suggested by Paul Jorg) to turn on the regen when the brake lights came on instead of controlling regen by releasing the accelerator pedal. Most people seem to want want greater range, but are not willing to give up starting torque for it, especially for a Porsche.

I was going to say that the most fun I had in an EV this year was, as usual, in a Porsche Taycan , almost regardless of which model (although the entry-level, single-motor version is a bit of a slug ), but then I remembered that it has been bested, at least in terms of driving joy, if not outrageous speed. But is it any good?

Re performance- with proper engineering, a small light car can protect a driver well. As far as quick, Id give my left nut to own a Wrightspeed EV, so I could (quietly) blow the doors off Porsches and Ferraris. I don’t just drive to work everyday with nothing more than a bag of golf clubs like the TV ads profess Californians are doing.
