Novozymes will supply enzyme technology to a new biorefinery that will be built by St1 Biofuels in Kajaani, Finland. The construction of the biorefinery supports Finland’s climate and energy strategy. Total investment is expected to be €40 million (US$44.4 million) of which an investment grant will cover 30%.

The first Etanolix plant delivered to the international market by Finland-based St1 Biofuels Oy was inaugurated in Gothenburg, Sweden last week. The ethanol plant is fully integrated into the functions and logistics of St1 oil refinery in Gothenburg and has an annual production capacity of 5 million liters (1.3 Earlier post.).
