“Electric cars will not save the climate. In states (or countries ) with a high proportion of coal-generated electricity, the miles needed to break-even climb more. If just one out of five urban residents in Europe permanently changed from driving to cycling, emissions from automobiles would be cut by 8 percent, the study reports.

"The Volt is a case study. Denmark did that with Wind Power and now most of their energy comes from wind rather than oil, natural gas, or coal.
