The program’s Subsonic Fixed Wing Project oversees the work at the agency’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland and Langley Research Center in Virginia. Moreover, the fuel burn reduction and the ‘greening’ of the electrical power grid can produce large reductions in emissions of life cycle CO 2 and nitrous oxide.

NASA Glenn Research Center , in Cleveland, are investigating whether this approach could one day provide enough power to operate small robotic probes on the surface of Mars, for example. Current fusion reactors also require copious amounts of tritium as one part of their fuel mixture. Gamma rays have turned the clear glass amber.
