While automakers continue to introduce new electric vehicles (EVs) and experience growth in market share, the beleaguered public vehicle charging infrastructure has not kept pace. Though purported to be the wave of the future, satisfaction with DC (direct current) fast chargers has declined even further, dropping 20 points to 654.

Separately, a new report by Pike Research forecasts that green chemistry represents a market opportunity that will grow from $2.8 billion pound, $3-billion worldwide market.

Range anxiety has been the bugaboo of EVs. Fortunately it’s becoming less of an issue now the newest EVs have a range of up to 300 miles on a full battery charge. Consequently, range anxiety and charging locations are of little concern. That meant looking for a decent public DC charging station in a nearby town.

The Environmental Protection Agency ( EPA ) rates the all-electric range (AER) at 33 miles. The regeneration on the Hornet R/T PHEV replenishes the battery when slowing or braking and is what contributed to that excellent range without using a drop of gasoline. DC Fast charging is not compatible. kWh battery is by plugging in.
