Open Source Civic EV Kit

After some significant debate at the Civic-EV Google Group on whether to use a clutched or clutch-less system, I'm going to pursue using a clutched system for the initial revision of this kit. I cleaned it up so I could get some measurements on it for the clutch-less system.

One of the other 914 kit converters questioned why the accessory battery couldn't stay in the original tray, but I decided to remove it anyway and have the accessory battery up in the front trunk near the DC/DC converter. It's a pity that we have to remove this, but the size of the golf-cart batteries clearly interfere with the latch.

If you build a car as a "kit car" with no real factory, then yes, it will never be an economic success. A simple, clean, efficient EV that wont run out of juice because of its on-board gas generator. You guys go ahead and buy your 40 mile per charge GM golf cart. The EV1s failure was a failure of Management.
