The Ichthys project consists of the development of the Ichthys gas and condensate field offshore North West Australia lying in 260 meters (853 feet) of water depth and the construction of an 889-kilometer (552-mile) gas transmission pipeline together with an onshore LNG plant near Darwin in the Northern Territory.

The first step of the process is the removal of CO 2 and saturation water that would freeze in the cryogenic section of the plant and therefore cause problems. The scope of the agreement also includes project installation. The new system will help reduce a fleet operator’s fuel costs by more than 25% compared to diesel fuel.
