Increased use of alternatives to oil-based transport fuels (gasoline, diesel and LPG) also help to temper oil-demand growth, though to a much smaller degree than efficiency gains in vehicles with internal combustion engines. Biofuels make the biggest such contribution, as use grows from 1.3 Mboe/d in 2035, an annual rate of increase of 5%.
