The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is accepting grant applications for innovative, advanced fuel, and vehicle technology projects that will result in cleaner advanced alternative transportation within the commonwealth. The AFIG Program is funded by annual gross receipts tax on utilities.

This program marks the first LNG rig conversion in the Marcellus Shale and will provide a cleaner burning alternative fuel for the region’s drilling operations. The LNG being used for EQT’s pilot program is produced locally from Marcellus natural gas reserves.

In May, the Oakland Unified school district announced the conversion of its entire school bus fleet to EVs. Electric school buses with V2G provide students with cleaner, fume-free transportation and allow us to send untapped energy from the bus batteries back to the grid, creating an enormous impact on grid resilience.
